Plastic Fantastic easySHELF

Over the years QTS has manufactured many variations of the easySHELF system to fulfil our distributo'rs requirements. So when AB Allen, the Belfast based racking distributor approached us with a unique requirement for plastic coated version, the QTS team jumped at the challenge.

The unusual requirement was for a new 100,000 ft ^SQ ambient, chill and freezer warehouse for longstanding clients Henderson’s Food Services Ltd food distributors and owners of the ‘Spar’ brand in Northern Ireland, who AB Allen had been providing storage solutions since 1970.

Listening to their specification it was quickly identified alongside research conducted with a local plastics specialist, that the decks should be finished in PPA571ES; a long-lasting, tough coating typically designed for exterior applications on mild steel.

A sample was quickly created and dispatched to undergo strict quality checks prior to orders being placed. Director Gerry McCourt, AB Allen, commented ," With such a precious customer we took great care in choosing a supplier very carefully with a high emphasis on service delivery and a solution that passed our most stringent examinations".

The completed solution was delivered to AB Allen within 2 weeks from the initial order being placed. Gerry McCourt praised QTS saying, "For this particular project, QTS were given a demanding specification and an almost impossible delivery expectation – they stood up to the challenge. We received all the goods on time and in perfect condition. The plastic coated mesh decks look great and perform to the specification perfectly (from -28⁰C to + 30⁰C). QTS have proved themselves to be a great supplier and remain firmly at the top of our grading system."
