Case Study: Dalvie Systems
4 November 2011
The Client
Dalvie Systems the long standing supplier of warehouse storage to leading international distributor of fasteners, screws and bolts, was called in to create a storage system capable of storing 3,000 storing heavy duty pallets following a move to a new Cradley Heath distribution center.
Due to the heavy loads being stored and stock being brought in on none standardised pallets, the brief stipulated a requirement for a strong and adaptable platform, capable of storing pallets up to 1500kgs safely without support from the beams.
The solution
Working with Dalvie systems, and using the proven easySHELF formula, QTS developed a heavy duty easySHELF compatible with the pallet racking chosen by Dalvie Systems and reinforced with 8 flared support bars equally distributed across 2 panels. A 38mm waterfall was selected to allow visibility of location labels and to minimise lateral movement during unloading and loading.
The result
The project was completed on schedule and to Dalvie Systems satisfaction. Tom Mckelvie of Dalvie Systems commented ' I have bought QTS's Rack Guardian anti-collapse system for a number of projects, but this was the first time I had used QTS for wire mesh decking. The easySHELF system was of excellent quality with no shape edges and much quicker to installed compared to conventional timber decks'.
